Wiper Motor

The wiper mechanism is the mechanical system that powers and controls the movement of the wiper blades on a heavy goods vehicle (HGV). It typically consists of three main components: the wiper motor, the wiper arm and the wiper linkage. The wiper motor is an electric motor that powers the movement of the wiper blades. It receives power from the vehicle's electrical system and converts it into rotary motion, which is used to drive the wiper arm back and forth across the windshield. The wiper arm is the component that attaches the wiper blade to the wiper motor. It is typically made of metal and has a curved shape that allows it to press the wiper blade against the windshield. The wiper arm is connected to the wiper motor through a wiper linkage, which is a series of gears and levers that transfer the rotary motion of the motor to the linear motion of the arm. The wiper mechanism is responsible for moving the wiper blades across the windshield, wiping away rain, snow, and other debris to improve visibility and safety while driving. It's important to keep the wiper mechanism in good working condition by regular maintenance, inspections, and adjustments as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. A malfunctioning wiper mechanism can cause the wiper blades to not wipe properly, or not move at all, which can reduce visibility and make it difficult to drive safely.
